Description

Visitors can come to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks to view boats passing from the freshwater of Lake Washington into the salt-water of the Puget Sound. The locks are located in the Ballard area, across the canal from Commodore Park. Another wildly popular attraction is the fish ladder, a place where visitors can watch migrating salmon leap up the series of small steps to navigate past the Locks.
